Sexism in Our Every Day Lives
Sexism can be found almost everywhere, whether it's found in someone's actions or someone's comments, they still manage to offend. Sexism is mainly targeting women, although a few documented cases have been found against men. As you can see in the above images, one of them is basically saying men are evolving while women should remain at home to scrub, clean and cook and not do anything with their lives. The other one is mainly saying that men have treated women so poorly, women are starting to give in. So the mother is telling her daughter what men have been telling women. In other words, men have managed to hypnotize women into thinking what men want them to think. That was illegal back in Milton H. Erickson's days and currently, thought it's not illegal anymore, it's just not right. The same problem is with sexism, it's not illegal, so people do it, but it's just not right!
Sexism can be found really anywhere you go. For example, our class currently is almost always split into boys and girls. That may not be a sexist comment, but it sure is a sexist gesture. Even at D.P.A, during a normal game of keys, boys do not want to hold hands with girls because of their sex. Or even at an assembly boys do not wish to sit beside girls. Same goes with girls not wanting to hold hands or sit beside boys. It may be a lower level of sexism, but sure is bad. I'm not saying that I'm any better, because I'm not, but my goal is for everyone to stop sexism in our communities.
